Mobile trends in 2023

Mobile technology has changed our lives in ways no one could have ever predicted. It’s a reason why people are able to get work done, entertain themselves, and even make purchases on the go. But as with all technologies, it’s important to keep an eye on trends that can affect your business.

Flutter

Flutter is a cross-platform solution for developing and shipping mobile apps. It uses Dart as a programming language, and it’s supported by Google. Flutter can run on both Android and iOS devices, so developers won’t have to choose between the two platforms when building apps with it.

Flutter is becoming one of the most popular choices for mobile app development. As per the statistics presented, more than 36,889 projects were built with Flutter and have been downloaded over 11 Billion times. The main benefits of using Flutter for mobile app development, and also why Flutter is considered the development trend in 2023, include time to market, overall app performance, efficiency of mobile apps, seamless app design experience, automation of testing, and much more.

Augmented Reality

Augmented reality (AR) is a term used to describe the concept of using digital technology to overlay computer-generated information on top of the real world. It has been around for decades, and has become more popular in recent years due to its potential use in many industries.

Augmented reality will for sure affect (if not already) mobile space, because it will help businesses increase their sales by providing more information about products or services through a mobile device’s camera.

Machine Learning

Machine Learning is a subset of Artificial Intelligence that uses algorithms to create models, which then can be used to make predictions.

Machine Learning has been around for decades, but it’s only recently become more accessible thanks to advances in computing power and cloud-based services. In fact, Machine Learning has become so popular that many companies now use it on a daily basis. While some ML applications are fairly straightforward, others can be complex and difficult to grasp at first glance. We will likely see a rise in Flutter, AR, and ML technology in the mobile space in 2023.

Mobile apps are increasingly using artificial intelligence and Machine Learning technologies in 2022, and this trend is expected to continue in 2023. AI-enabled mobile applications will allow businesses to develop smart applications using pre-created modules and adding relevant data. Additionally, AI-powered chatbots will create a seamless customer experience for users. Those applications will also be used for predictive analytics, image recognition, and facial recognition. Additionally, AI-enabled drones and other smart devices, such as IoT devices, will be used to create a hyper-connected world. Finally, cheaper cameras and new AI will drive an explosion of computer vision for analytics and automation in 2023.

AI and ML will be increasingly used in mobile apps developed in Flutter. AI and ML can enable predictive analysis and automate certain tasks, allowing developers to focus on more complex tasks. Both can also help to improve the speed and efficiency of the app development process. Additionally, they can help to create more personalized user experiences by providing better user insights.

Conclusion

The mobile trend of 2023 is set to be dominated by a combination of new technologies and platforms. The rise of Augmented Reality and Machine Learning combined with the continued advance of cross-platform development will lead to an increasingly seamless user experience across devices and browsers.

PS. What about developers?

What new technologies should I (developer) learn in 2023? What I would advise right now is: none. I think 2023 will be pretty much “stable” regarding new trends in mobile development, so my suggestion is to master current technology. Developers should spend their time on topics like software architecture, clean code approach, Test Driven Development - pragmatic programming generally speaking.
